We were at a charity sports car program, where we take our Corvettes and give special kids rides (Spina Fiva survivors). Gene, one of the most colorful car club members, went over to a child in a wheel chair next to her father. She was very shy and was not in line for a corvette ride. So, Gene got down on one knee, look her in her eyes, and told the little girl that none of the kids wanted to ride with him because his car was black and all the other kids wanted to ride in the red, yellow green, white, and blue cars. Gene told her all the others drivers would make fun of him all year long for not having anyone ride with him, so he asked her to do him a favor and ride with him. She said she would. But before they started up, she said that she was worried that her hair would get messed up by the wind, so Gene reached in the back of his corvette and gave her his favorite "corvette" hat. She smiled.... Gene knew that he just lost his hat, but he got a huge, but worth wild smile in return. Every year since, Gene gives all the kids Corvette hats!

We know that Gene had made such a difference for this one little girl.

The effect of that hat was so good for this little girl, so we applied this act of charity to the beauty industry and came up with this program for the working woman survival shows (WWSSonline.com) and other cut-a-thons. Stylists from all over the St Louis area (all different salons) volunteer to cut hair and make new friends!

We hear how these special kids smile when they get their hats. Even though their smiles may only be for a little while, we feel this is the best medicine they can have at the time of their battle of their life!

Our hats go to hospitals all over the United States. While most stay in St. Louis, many are sent all of the United States.

We had so many also inquiries for donating hair that we asked that them to please send their donations direct to WIGS FOR KIDS program for hair greater than 10" (they prefer over 12") for wigs for kids programs. Of all the programs in the US, the wigs for kids is the best for kids!

This is our nineth year helping people help people!
